Safari Blue is one of Zanzibar’s most popular day trips. It takes place in the Menai Bay Conservation Area, off the island’s south-west coast near Fumba, and combines sailing, snorkeling and a feast of fresh seafood.
What the Safari Blue day includes
You sail on a traditional wooden dhow to a sandbank for swimming and relaxing, then continue to a coral reef for snorkeling. With luck, you may spot dolphins along the way.
Lunch is served on a quiet island beach: grilled fish, seafood, rice and plenty of tropical fruit. In the afternoon you can visit a natural lagoon surrounded by mangroves, jump off the rocks into the water and see a giant baobab tree.
The cruise lasts most of the day, with transfers from your hotel. Snorkeling gear and soft drinks are usually included.
