Chem Chem Wildlife Management Area
Enveloped within 20,000 hectares (50,000 acres) of pristine African bush lies the Chem Chem—Burunge Wildlife Management Area (WMA). This secluded sanctuary offers elegant tent-style accommodations at three distinct locations: Chem Chem Lodge, Little Chem Chem, and Forest Chem Chem. Each retreat is designed to capture the essence of a vintage safari experience, providing both luxury and intimacy amid the unspoiled wilderness.
Chem Chem Lodge
Chem Chem Lodge seamlessly blends into the unfenced wilderness that surrounds it. Its main structure, designed to resemble a flamingo with outstretched wings, houses a full-service gourmet restaurant, an outside fireplace, a lounge with a fireplace, and a fully stocked library. Guests can enjoy panoramic views from the Lodge’s viewing deck overlooking Lake Manyara National Park. Additional amenities include a hidden gym, a pool nestled in the trees, and a spa dedicated to profound relaxation.
Tent-Style Suites
The eight spacious tent-style suites (100 m²) at Chem Chem Lodge offer ultra-luxurious accommodation beneath the expansive African skies. The use of natural materials such as wood, canvas, cotton, and lava rock helps these suites harmonize with their surroundings. Guests can fall asleep to the sounds of the wild and awaken to the serene symphony of nature. Privacy is assured with each suite positioned at least 80 meters away from the next, ensuring a tranquil retreat.
Family Accommodations
Families are well-catered for with a full suite connected by a small wooden bridge to a vintage-style tented room (50 m²). This family-friendly setup features both indoor and outdoor showers and can comfortably accommodate up to three children and two adults. The thoughtful design ensures a spacious and comfortable environment for families seeking adventure and relaxation in the heart of the African bush.
