Serengeti Kamwene Tented Camp. This is set in a unique, quiet and natural area in Central Serengeti just 24 km from Seronera Air Strip. Also, it is just a 15-20 minute drive. Your travel to the Camp is another game drive. This is because you will meet most species of wild animals on your way. We are striving to make our guests feel at home by creating a warm and friendly atmosphere in our camp.
The camp relies on solar energy for power and hot water with a backup generator which is solely used to keep the lights on in case of cloudy weather. There are 6 tents in all. It is the most luxurious and undoubtedly the most enjoyable tent in Serengeti National Park.
Whom do we not recommend tented camps for? Tented camps are typically more basic than traditional lodges or even tented lodges, so guests should be prepared for the rustic setting, limited access to electricity, and no internet connectivity. Some tented camps may not be suitable for families with young children or those with mobility issues, as they may require walking over uneven terrain. And if the thought of hearing the sounds of lions/hyenas throughout the night with only a canvas wall to separate you from the wilderness sounds unsettling, you should consider staying at lodges. Tented camps may not be the best option for clients travelling with young children, as children must be supervised to keep safe from the wild.
